Sealing the Deal

On a California beach in the middle of the night, these seals were sat on and kicked by two women, who also pulled on the seals flippers and took photos of themselves hurting the seals.

Sara Wan of the Western Alliance for Nature set up hidden cameras on the beach to catch people who were disturbing the seals.

Taking out the Trash

In New Jersey, Keith Morgan (56), and his wife Ewing (43), were thought of as heroes one day in March when they retrieved a dog from a trash bag on the side of the road and brought it to an animal shelter. Later it was discovered that this was Keith's dog. The dog was covered in urine, and his hair was so matted together that he was not able to stand. The couple was charged with filing a false police report, sentenced to six months in jail, they must pay a $1,000 fine, and also owe $13,000 in restitution to the Red Bank Veterinary Hospital for the dogs medical expenses. They are never able to own a dog again.

All You Can Eat

A call was made to the Miami Police about some skinny looking horses. They were spotted in an 8'x10' pen that was boarded up to avoid attention. The horses were 200lbs underweight and had no food or water for months. A lake was clearly visible from their pen. They had kept themselves alive by eating wood from the walls and their own manure. Their recovery could take months, but they may not even survive.
