Taking out the Trash

In New Jersey, Keith Morgan (56), and his wife Ewing (43), were thought of as heroes one day in March when they retrieved a dog from a trash bag on the side of the road and brought it to an animal shelter. Later it was discovered that this was Keith's dog. The dog was covered in urine, and his hair was so matted together that he was not able to stand. The couple was charged with filing a false police report, sentenced to six months in jail, they must pay a $1,000 fine, and also owe $13,000 in restitution to the Red Bank Veterinary Hospital for the dogs medical expenses. They are never able to own a dog again.

  1. Animal abuse is HORRIBLE! The pictures on your blog send a very strong message that animal abuse is wrong. Its so sad that people would do such a thing to a poor animal.

  2. The thought of someone being able to do this to an animal is haunting. If people can't handle the responsibility of taking care of a pet, then they shouldn't get one. There is no purpose in getting a pet if all you're going to do is neglect it.
